We visited Kasteel Vaeshartelt in July 2007, here is a short opening to our experience:
We arrived at Maastricht central station and took bus 59 to the hotel. In about 10 minutes we arrived at the closest bus stop to the hotel. From the bus stop it’s a 5 minutes walk to the hotel. There is also a direct bus (no.2) from the hotel to the center of Maastricht. At the entrance to the park that surrounds the hotel there is small 18 people accommodation to rent, which also belongs to the castle (see picture no.6). On arriving we were offered a free walking guide through the English park.
The interior of the castle is a modern design with expositions of several artists. Clean room (see picture no.3 and 4) with TV and a nice view to the garden (see picture no.5). The room was shower only. The breakfast buffet was open from 7am to 10.15am. Internet was free, a nice constellation btw a keyboard with a mouse and the monitor implemented into a mirror wall. Checkout on weekdays 9.30am is a little early, but on weekends they allow to stay until 10.30am I guess.
