Een Belgische journaliste van "Het Laatste Nieuws" schreef onlangs: "U slaapt in authentiek Hollandse charme". En ja, inderdaad...u overnacht in één van de eerste op oude vestinggrond gebouwde herenhuizen (1875) na de slechting van de vestingwerken in 1870. Deze herenhuizen waren bedoeld voor "de aanzienlijken". De karakteristieke kenmerken van dit pand blijven zoveel mogelijk door ons bewaard. Al sinds 1955 worden hier gasten ontvangen van over de hele wereld,....een rijke historie en ervaring derhalve.
